Nathaniel Kraak with his wife Candice on USC Graduation night 2010

28 April 2010

The qualifications earned by Gympie 23-year-old Nathaniel Kraak at the University of the Sunshine Coast will come in handy when he moves overseas later this year.

Nathaniel, who attended the USC Graduation Ceremony on 9 April in front of 3,000 guests, intends to live overseas with his Canadian wife Candice.

“Having a USC Bachelor of Education/Arts will hold me in good stead when it comes to seeking employment,” said the former Cooloola Christian College student.

“There were a number of career paths I was interested in but I chose Education because it’s a flexible career full of opportunities around the world.”

Nathaniel said he particularly enjoyed the University’s courses geared towards the social sciences.

“These courses really helped me to question the way society is constructed. It’s a skill that everyone can practise in one form or another.”

He is currently continuing a labouring job in Brisbane that helped support his studies until he moves to Canada.
