Nursing remains USC’s most popular degree

Paramedic Science is among USC's most sought-after degrees

The Bachelor of Nursing Science has topped the University of the Sunshine Coast’s list of most sought-after study programs for the third consecutive year.

USC will welcome well over 200 new undergraduate Nursing Science students in Semester 1 this year, following offers made by QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) today.

Nursing Science, with 233 offers, is followed by Sport and Exercise Science (142 offers), Paramedic Science (115 offers) and a new Bachelor of Primary Education (113) as USC’s top programs for 2010.

A total of 2,643 people to date have been offered places at USC starting Semester 1, 2010, and that figure is likely to reach almost 3,000 when Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) offer rounds are completed next month.

Eighty-two percent of successful QTAC applicants who wanted to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast received their first preferences.

The 2,643 offers for places at USC include 1,908 offers to Sunshine Coast applicants, 199 to Brisbane residents, 289 from other areas of Queensland, 235 from interstate and 12 from overseas.
