Shift exhibition to open at USC Gallery

HEW Chee Fong's work 'Emotional Baggage'

3 February 2010

A stunning exhibition by two high-profile Sunshine Coast artists, HEW Chee Fong and LM Noonan, will open at the University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery tomorrow (Thursday 4 February) at 6pm.

Gallery Curator Dawn Oelrich said the exhibition, Shift, was about changes in perception, style and life, and it featured painting, sculpture, installation, photography and digital imaging.

Ms Oelrich said the artists, who have both exhibited nationally and internationally, have created an exhibition that highlights their changing attitudes and approaches to art.

“This exhibition presents two artists who have re-evaluated and rediscovered the reasons they make art,” she said. “Previous expectations of identity are questioned in this exhibition.”

Shift will continue at the USC Gallery until Saturday 27 February. Admission is free and open to the public. The gallery is open from 10am to 4pm Mondays to Saturdays.
