USC presents tourism e-marketing workshop

11 November 2010

An international expert in online marketing will be keynote speaker at a workshop for tourism businesses hosted by the University of the Sunshine Coast on Wednesday 24 November.

Dr Ian Fenwick wrote the popular book, “Digimarketing: A guide to the rapidly evolving world of new media and digital marketing”.

He is in demand globally for his ability to clearly communicate the trends, technologies and marketing concepts needed to stay competitive in the modern digital world.

The management educator and marketing consultant, who has worked in Europe, North America and Asia, will be one of three speakers at USC’s “Digimarketing for Tourism, Leisure & Events” workshop.

After Dr Fenwick reveals strategies for taking business online and developing a digimarketing plan, Matt Forman will discuss ways of marketing to an audience and accessing search media.

Mr Forman is the managing director of Traffika, a high-growth Internet marketing agency, and has 13 years of experience in the industry.

Russell Bullen of OMC, a leading online and communications business based on the Sunshine Coast, will provide tips on understanding customer segments and differentiating a business online.

Mr Bullen has more than 23 years of experience in hotel technology, distribution systems and business intelligence.

The Executive Education workshop will be presented by the USC Faculty of Business at Mantra, Mooloolaba, from 8.30am to 5pm.

Registrations for the event are open to all and can be made by contacting the USC Project Management Centre on 5459 4892 or email pmc@usc.edu.au.
