Coast sporting identity to be honoured
The Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame will hold its annual induction ceremony at the University of the Sunshine Coast tomorrow night (Thursday 11 November).
The Hall of Fame will induct one new sporting champion and present Certificates of Merit to two sports administrators for their outstanding involvement and contributions to sport on the Sunshine Coast.
Previous inductees have included Pat Rafter, Mal Meninga, Clint Robinson, Glynis Nunn-Cearns, Brendan Burkett, Grant Kenny, Lisa Curry, Ian Baker Finch, Darren Obah, Kerri Thomas and Emma Sheers.
One of this year’s Certificate of Merit winners has strong links with several media organisations in the region.
Guests will arrive from 6.30pm for the official ceremony to start at 7pm.
The Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame Awards are sponsored by the University of the Sunshine Coast, Seven Local News, 92.7 Mix FM, the Sunshine Coast Daily and the Queensland Government Department of Communities (Sport and Recreation Services).
