Enterprise Tuesday offers tips for success
Note: This event has been postponed due to heavy rainfall across the region.
The managing director of a successful Sunshine Coast company that designs and makes water treatment and recycling equipment will speak at USC’s first Enterprise Tuesday forum for 2010.
David Lumb of Clearmake, which was national winner of the 2008 Telstra Country Wide Regional Award, will offer tips on achieving business excellence at the University of the Sunshine Coast on Tuesday 2 March from 4pm to 6pm.
Enterprise Tuesday is a regular business forum at USC’s Innovation Centre focusing on the digital, clean technology and creative industries.
Inspired by a program of the same name run by the University of Cambridge, the events are open to local business owners and managers, USC staff and students.
Innovation Centre CEO Colin Graham said Clearmake was a successful example of how to build a clean technology business from a Sunshine Coast location.
Mr Lumb’s presentation will be “Long live the evolution: Growing a successful business”.
He said that when he became head of Clearmake in 2007, his goals included boosting financial sustainability and employee job satisfaction. In the first financial year, the company increased revenue by 35 percent.
Clearmake’s industrial water equipment helps business and government reduce mains water consumption and meet environmental discharge requirements. It is used in more than 3,000 businesses across the country.
