Farewell event for founding Vice-Chancellor
Two hundred invited guests are set to attend a special farewell event for the University of the Sunshine Coast’s founding Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Thomas AM tomorrow evening (Friday 4 June).
The event, from 5.30-8pm, will be held at the Innovation Centre Auditorium. Television presenter Rosanna Natoli will be the Master of Ceremonies.
A highlight of the evening will be a series of short tributes to the Vice-Chancellor from a range of speakers including civic, community, education and business leaders.
The speakers also will include USC’s Chancellor John Dobson, USC academic and Olympic kayaker Gayle Mayes, and the University’s first enrolled student Sole Paez, who now works as a manager with Lifeline Community Care.
Professor Thomas will finish work as Vice-Chancellor on Friday 11 June. Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill has been appointed as the University’s next Vice-Chancellor.
