Love twins mean business at USC
When it comes to studying, Nambour twins Emma and Kate Love certainly mean business.
The sisters, who will graduate from the University of the Sunshine Coast this Friday (9 April), both received prizes at last week’s annual Faculty of Business Awards and Prizes Ceremony.
Emma claimed the top prize – the $1,500 Juniper Development Group Prize for the Outstanding Third Year Management Student – while Kate collected the $500 Wicked Wolf Events Prize for the Best Student in the subject Sport and Event Marketing.
The prizes have capped off a stellar time at USC for both sisters, whose efforts in gaining Dean’s Commendations will be noted at Friday’s Graduation ceremony.
Emma majored in Management and recently gained work with Amber Werchon Property as an assistant property manager. Kate majored in Human Resource Management and is currently seeking work.
Emma said the Faculty of Business prizes recognised the hard work that she and Kate had put in during their three-year Bachelor of Business degrees.
She said the University of the Sunshine Coast was a good choice for her and Kate after they graduated from Nambour State High School in 2006.
“I really liked the small class sizes, the campus and the area, and studying close to home,” she said. “USC has pretty good facilities and the lecturers are really helpful as well.”
Kate said she had really enjoyed attending university with her sister.
“We did most of the same classes at the same time,” she said. “At home we could talk about assessments and help each other out. We did a few assignments together and got really high marks.
“I enjoyed the laid-back nature of USC. The tutors were really good and the small class sizes were great.”
