USC organises annual University Showcase
Thousands of Year 12 students from across the region will benefit next week from the seventh annual University Showcase organised by the University of the Sunshine Coast.
The travelling showcase will feature eight Queensland universities, the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE and the Australian Defence Force as exhibitors.
It will visit 14 high schools between Monday and Friday (8-12 March), providing information to students from schools between Caloundra and Gympie.
Universities taking part this year are the University of the Sunshine Coast, University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, Griffith University, University of Southern Queensland, Central Queensland University, Bond University and the Australian Catholic University.
Organiser Kylie Russell said the showcase was an important community engagement exercise by USC to give students a comprehensive display of tertiary study options.
“USC coordinates this event to provide a one-stop-shop for students interested in tertiary study,” she said.
“It provides an opportunity to find out more about degree programs, pathways to uni, admissions, tertiary study costs, accommodation and university life in general.
“The University Showcase gives students access to information across a wide variety of education providers, and the best opportunity to make a choice that’s right for them.”
Ms Russell said USC’s student ambassadors would travel with the showcase to talk one-on-one with high school students about their university experiences.
