Support builds for Engineering students
Growing community support for the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Civil Engineering program will be celebrated tomorrow (Tuesday 27 April) at the USC Gallery.
Four awards – two scholarships and two prizes totalling $11,500 – will be presented to USC students from 10.30am at USC’s inaugural Engineering Awards ceremony.
Three of the awards are new, indicating a rapid growth in community support for the Engineering program since it was launched in 2008.
The awards being presented tomorrow are:
- The $5,000 Les and Mary Hall Family Scholarship in Engineering, which was first presented in 2009, for a first-year student in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering;
- The new $5,000 Graham Tamblyn Scholarship in Engineering for a second-year Bachelor of Civil Engineering with a major in Environment and Water;
- The new $1,000 LEW Mosel Prize in Engineering for a second-year Engineering student; and
- The new $500 Mark and Susan Bradley Prize in Engineering to support the best over first year student enrolled in the Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
