USC research features on television

Six scientists star in USC's latest television commercial

23 August 2010

A new television commercial for the University of the Sunshine Coast is now being shown on Sunshine Coast television stations.

The commercial has the theme of sustainability and highlights USC's recent research efforts in climate change, aquaculture and forestry.

It can be viewed on USC’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/UniSunshineCoast

Six USC researchers appear in the advertisement, which explores the notion that our natural settings (a competitive advantage for USC) can assist our ability to think.

It suggests that the Sunshine Coast is not just a great place to live — it's also the best place to think. In other words, it offers the best of both worlds.

Those featured in the advertisement are Professors Tim SmithAbigail Elizur and Helen Wallace and Associate Professors Wayne Knibb, Stephen Trueman and David Lee.

The commercial complements the University’s existing “best of both worlds” brand advertisement and will run until late September.

The “best place to think” message also will feature in advertisements in the Sunshine Coast Daily and in USC’s outdoor advertising on buses and billboards.
