Business successes to inspire students

University of the Sunshine Coast International Business graduate Tristan Kurz

A University of the Sunshine Coast International Business graduate who is now principal dealer at Coastline BMW will help inspire more than 230 high school students at the annual USC Business Enterprise Day on Wednesday 24 August.

Tristan Kurz, who graduated in 2004 and is now a member of the USC Foundation Board, will be a keynote speaker along with Nikki Parkinson, managing editor and social media consultant at Styling You.

The secondary students, who are all studying business at their eight regional schools, will receive top tips and career insights from another 27 local industry experts in workshops as part of the event at the USC Innovation Centre.

The range of fields includes financial and insurance services, architecture, real estate and housing, conservation, aviation, beauty, technology, tourism, communications, education and government.

The event aims to give students ideas on how to put their business studies into practice in the real world by showcasing the variety now operating on the Sunshine Coast.

USC Business and Commerce student Lauren Stratham also will talk to the crowd about her study experiences at the University.

The 2011 USC Business Enterprise Day, from 9.30am to 2pm, will be presented by the USC Faculty of Business and the Business Educators’ Association of Queensland.
