Ideal job in Gladstone for Nursing graduate
When Rebecca van Zanten officially received her Nursing Science degree at the University of the Sunshine Coast Graduation ceremony on 20 April, her health career was already in full swing.
Formerly of Logan in Brisbane, Rebecca is now living in Gladstone after gaining a full-time role as a registered nurse at Gladstone Base Hospital.
“I applied to Queensland Health straight after finishing my exams at USC last year and I’m loving this job,” she said.
Rebecca, 25, said she was enjoying all the elements of nursing in regional Queensland, from the daily challenges to the social camaraderie.
“I like talking to patients and keeping busy and there are so many options within nursing,” she said.
Rebecca, who lived at Mountain Creek while studying at USC, said she made great friends and liked working in the laboratories on campus at Sippy Downs.
She was among 600 USC students who donned academic gowns to receive their degrees at two USC Graduation ceremonies on 20 April.
