Design students to stage Unfold exhibition

Design work by USC student Sian Sheppard

3 November 2011

An exciting exhibition of digital design and commercial graphic art by advanced-level Design students at the University of the Sunshine Coast will open at the USC Gallery at 6pm on Thursday 10 November.

The exhibition, called Unfold: minds, open for the future, features the students’ final portfolios, which incorporate digital prints, graphic design, animation, illustration, magazine spreads, web sites, e-media and interactive CD-ROMs.

USC Gallery Curator Dawn Oelrich said Unfold would highlight the fantastic work and range of concepts created by USC students over the past three years.

“This exhibition provides a wonderful opportunity for industry representatives to see the work being produced by this latest group of upcoming designers,” she said.

Guest speaker at the exhibition opening will be JOLT Advertising director Tanja Hall, who is the Queensland President of the Australian Graphic Design Association.

Coast art patrons, the Proost-De Deyne family, will award two prizes for the top portfolios.

The exhibition will be on display from 10-19 November at the USC Gallery, located on the University campus at Sippy Downs Drive, Sippy Downs.

The gallery is open free to the public from 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, but is closed Sundays and public holidays.

The 2011 University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery program is proudly supported by Coastline BMW and the Kurz family.
