Info night for parents of Year 10-12 students
The University of the Sunshine Coast will hold a free information evening tomorrow (Wednesday 1 June) for parents of Year 10-12 students who are considering university study.
This popular annual event, from 6-8pm, will give parents practical advice on how their children can best prepare for tertiary study, as well as an understanding of what happens at universities.
USC Acting External Relations Manager Julie Flanagan said parents, and the students themselves, would benefit from attending the evening.
“This information session will provide parents and students with key information to help make decisions for senior school and beyond,” she said.
“Topics will include career planning, choosing subjects for senior school, OP scores, the regional preference scheme, pathways to university and the study programs available at USC.
“The session also will explain what university is all about, the costs associated with tertiary study, scholarships, financial support, and the resources that are available to help students’ decision making.”
Optional campus tours, led by current USC students, will be provided at 5pm tomorrow.
Bookings for the information evening are essential. Contact USC’s External Relations on (07) 5456 5000 or visit <www.usc.edu.au/info>.
