Nursing Science is most popular degree

The Bachelor of Nursing Science is the most sought-after degree program at the University of the Sunshine Coast

16 January 2011

The Bachelor of Nursing Science has continued its reign as the University of the Sunshine Coast’s most sought-after study program.

USC has offered 216 places to new undergraduate Nursing Science students in Semester 1 this year, following offers made by QTAC (Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre) over the weekend.

Flooding in Brisbane delayed the distribution of offers by QTAC last week and some students might not yet have received their official notification via email.

Nursing Science is followed by Primary Education (153), Sport and Exercise Science (127), Paramedic Science (122) and Psychology (120) as USC’s top programs for 2011.

A total of 2,773 offers have been made to date for places at USC starting Semester 1, 2011, and that figure is likely to pass 3,000 when Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) offer rounds are completed next month.

Contact USC on 5430 2879 for advice on the application process.

Seventy-nine percent of successful QTAC applicants who wanted to study at the University of the Sunshine Coast received their first preferences.

The 2,773 offers for places at USC include 1,985 offers to Sunshine Coast applicants, 229 to Brisbane residents, 344 from other areas of Queensland and 200 from interstate.
