Orientation gets into full swing at USC

14 February 2011

Thousands of students are set to enjoy their first taste of university life tomorrow (Tuesday 15 February) as the University of the Sunshine Coast’s Orientation Week gets into full swing.

O-Week will include a wide range of social and serious activities, campus tours, markets, live entertainment and welcome events for USC’s three faculties to be held over the next few days.

The largest of these welcome events will be for the Faculty of Science, Health and Education in Lecture Theatre 1 from 9-10am tomorrow.

Other media opportunities tomorrow include the launch of an innovative U-pass subsidised bus fare scheme at 10am, Community Day Markets, a clothing exchange run by students, barbecue lunch and live entertainment at the Art Gallery Piazza.

Other Orientation highlights this week include the annual Great Court Race on Wednesday at 12.30pm (weather permitting), live entertainment at noon from Tuesday to Thursday at the Art Gallery piazza, fire twirling and hoola hoop workshops and a “world cup” indoor soccer competition on Thursday afternoon.
