Portrait of Vice-Chancellor to be unveiled
The official portrait of University of the Sunshine Coast Vice-Chancellor Professor Greg Hill will be unveiled at a special ceremony at USC’s Chancellery this afternoon.
About 40 invited guests will gather from 5pm to witness the unveiling of the painting by Blue Mountains artist Christopher McVinish in a half-hour ceremony from 5.30pm.
Mr McVinish was commissioned in February to paint Professor Hill’s portrait, following his impressive work on Chancellor John Dobson’s portrait last year.
Professor Hill was appointed USC’s Vice-Chancellor and President last year when the University’s founding Vice-Chancellor Professor Paul Thomas AM retired.
Professor Thomas will be attending tonight’s celebration.
The new painting will bring the number of portraits in the Chancellery to five, comprising images of USC’s first three Chancellors and its first two Vice-Chancellors.
