USC reopens after severe weather passes
The University of the Sunshine Coast has reopened today.
USC decided to close at 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 11 January) after a series of thunderstorms caused flash flooding and sharp rises in rivers and creeks across the region.
The University itself was not flooded, but the closure was prompted by concerns for the safety of staff and students travelling to and from campus.
Dozens of roads across the Sunshine Coast remain closed due to flooding today.
Students and staff are advised to check the Sunshine Coast Council website for details about road closures before setting out for the Sippy Downs campus.
The University will continue to monitor conditions.
