Danielle Benevento
Home country: USA
Program: Study Abroad, Canisius College
Fourth year Canisius College student Danielle Benevento was confident in her choice of USC as her Study Abroad destination.
“I chose USC because it was in an English-speaking country and I had only heard really good things about it. I was also attracted to the beaches and the scenery,” she says.
As an Arts and Sciences student, Danielle was able to find courses at USC to complement her studies at home.
“I am studying Gender and Culture, Food and Society, and History of Australian Popular Culture. Gender and Culture is my favourite course because it is closest to Psychology which is my major.”
The structure of USC classes and the cultural experience they offer is appealing to Danielle.
“I like the organisation of the school and I like learning from a different cultural perspective. I feel I’m more aware of a completely different part of the world,” she says.
“I like that classes are only once a week and I enjoy tutorials because I get a chance to understand the lectures better.”
Danielle lives in student accommodation and has a positive impression of the housing and lifestyle at USC.
“I live at UniCentral and I like it a lot. The staff are helpful and maintenance are helpful and I like the people that live there too,” she says.
“It’s fun to play sports here like basketball and tennis, and I really like volleyball at Varsity (student accommodation). I also enjoy the local night clubs.”
Danielle encourages others to participate in an international education experience and recommends USC as a great place to do it.
“USC is a great school, people are helpful and the classes are interesting, it’s just a great thing to further your education around the world!”
