Natalia Kontschak
Home country: Germany
Program: Study Abroad
German student Natalia Kontschak said she had noticed a surprising difference between USC and her home institution.
“The biggest cultural difference here is that everyone calls the lecturer by his first name," she says.
Student Services and USC International have also played a part in Natalia’s experience of USC.
“The disability department helped me with my hearing impairment and the lecturers were very helpful (the same as in Germany)," she says.
“Student Services help every time with correction of assignments and USC International helped me during my preparation for the Study Abroad Semester. They sent me information and answered my questions.”
Natalia says she has learned a lot on her Study Abroad semester—both in and out of the classroom.
“I am staying in student accommodation. It was a good experience to live with people which you have to get to know at first," she says.
“Since I have been in Australia, my language skills have improved. The experiences that I have had in Australia would, in my opinion, be helpful in the future.”
