A decision to quit travelling around Australia in early 2011 to study Commerce at the University of the Sunshine Coast is paying off for Ally Guirado of the United Kingdom.
Ally, who is now in the second year of a Commerce degree at USC, was recently accepted into the 2013 summer vacation work placement program at the Sydney office of one of the world’s largest professional services companies, Deloitte. Read more.

A young University of the Sunshine Coast graduate has received a management award nomination for her international charity work helping disadvantaged people in the Philippines.
Liberty Moore, 22, of Buderim is vying for a management excellence award from the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) for her role as project leader of the Kuya Collaborative – a joint initiative of USC’s Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) team and the Kuya Centre for Street Children. Linda Hackett, 54, of Bundaberg has graduated from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Master of Advanced Nursing Practice.
Mrs Hackett is the Nurse–in–Charge of Bundaberg Base Hospital’s Special Care Nursery, which helps save the lives of premature and sick babies. Read more.

Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
University of the Sunshine Coast graduate Samantha Owen of Hervey Bay can recall the exact moment that she decided to become an occupational therapist.
“I chose to study occupational therapy when I was 18 after experiencing a third degree burn to my hand, which required a pressure garment fitted by an occupational therapist,” she said. Read more.

Bachelor of Biomedical Science
Having a strong stomach is paying off for University of the Sunshine Coast graduate Jassmyn Evans who recently started work at an independent pathology laboratory in Buderim.
The 20–year–old from Bribie Island said she was testing more than 100 patient samples a week as a laboratory assistant for Coastal Pathology. Read more.

Tony Ravell, 37, secured a graduate civil engineering position with GHD last year while in his final year of a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree at USC. Read more.

Hope Crowe of Redcliffe is putting her University of the Sunshine Coast degree and people skills into practice after landing a job with an international health insurance company.

Megan McEwan of Bundaberg has attributed the great start to her journalism career in central Queensland to her Bachelor of Journalism studies at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
