Information technology services for staff

Staff have on-campus and remote access to a range of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) services.

Standard staff equipment

  • A networked desktop computer or laptop for staff (sessional and casual staff may have shared computers), with a standard set of software in a Managed Operating Environment (MOE)
  • A network account with access to a range of applications and systems, including the internet
  • Staff Webmail account

Online systems for staff

  • USC portal delivers web access to email, information resources and discussion boards, and provides access to the University's online learning system (Blackboard) for teaching purposes
  • USC Staff provides access to online payslips and personal contact information
  • Train Station delivers online training on some ICT systems via the USC portal
  • Wireless access is available from most areas on campus
  • The USC Research Bank is a repository of staff and student research

Other ICT services and facilities

  • A multimedia production studio provides services for the flexible and online delivery of academic programs
  • Rich instructional and audiovisual technologies in lecture theatres and teaching spaces assist with the development and delivery of courses
  • Printing, copying, faxing and scanning resources are provided by Mail and Print Services
  • IT and audiovisual equipment loans, such as projectors and laptops, are available from IT Services

All IT-related queries, ranging from technical issues to purchase of equipment, should be directed to the IT Service Desk. Your query will then be responded to by the appropriate area within IT Services.
