'Mabokang Monnapula-Mapesela is Senior Director and Associate Professor in the Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching at the Central University of Technology, Free State, South Africa.
She is is a black woman who has been in academia for 19 years working in previously white universities. Her interests are higher education policy, transformation, and teaching and learning. She has supervised and mentored many postgraduate students mainly women.
Professor Monnapula-Mapesela has presented scholarly papers at conferences nationally and internationally and has published more than 25 research papers and chapters in scholarly books. In terms of making shiFt happen, collectively and individually we can create spaces for disrupting invisible and sometimes imaginary boundaries that constrain women in academia.
