Bold and brassy tunes for USC lunchtime concert
3 May 2018
Four brass bands are included in the line-up for USC’s next Lunchtime Concert on Thursday 10 May from noon to 1pm.
The concert at the USC Art Gallery is open to the public and will feature performances by some young and emerging groups – the Kaleidoscope Horn Quartet, Brown Snake Brass, The Pickles Horn Quartet, and Cinque Nouvellas.
Many of the horn players in these bands are students at the Queensland Conservatorium.
The Lunchtime Concert Series has been organised by USC’s Artistic Director of Music Sean O’Boyle, who is a composer, conductor and performer.
Mr O’Boyle was instrumental in USC introducing a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Music) this year, a move that looks set to make the University a hub for music in the region.
