In their program for International Women's Day, Muses Trio celebrate the wonder of mother earth and the power of cradle song with new music by Australians Nicole Murphy, Elena Kats-Chernin and Hilary Kleinig, and music of the past by Clara Schumann, Rebecca Clarke, and Luise Adolpha le Beau. They will be joined by Suzanne Kompass, Director of Vocal Arts, USC performing Songs for piano trio and voice by Amy Beach. This concert features two world premieres inspired by divine creation and lullaby, Songs of Silent Earth by Natalie Williams, and Afflatus by Natalie Nicolas.

Muses Piano Trio are Christa Powell (violin), Louise King (cello) and Therese Milanovic (piano). Muses Trio discover, perform, collaborate, commission and record outstanding musical works written by women who bring this relatively unknown yet vastly deserving collection of music to the stage and to audiences. A signature of their carefully curated public performance events is sharing anecdotes about the women composers. Inspiring, collaborating, connecting, commissioning and supporting creative women to pursue and share artistic excellence are important aspects of their research and performance collaborations.

A Music at USC lunchtime concert.
