Jacob Reus

Master of Financial Planning 2008

Since joining his father’s accounting and financial planning firm Bob Reus & Co 18 years ago, Jake (Jacob) has taken the lead in transforming the business and making the Sydney based financial planning practice the central driver of the firm’s growth.

Supported by his leadership and guidance, one of his support staff was awarded Count Support Staff Specialist of the Year for 2015, while Jake himself was recognised as Count’s Financial Adviser of the Year in 2017. He was also one of four finalists for the 2017 “Money Management Financial Planner of the Year” awards.

Jake has grown his practice by concentrating on three key priorities: client focus, service delivery and account management and has achieved growth of around 30% each year.

More recently in his role as Chief Operating Officer, Jake has taken on the management of the accounting and taxation services side of the business. Under his leadership, the practice has grown FUM (Funds Under Management) by over $12 million during this period of transition.

Jake also champions charities dedicated to helping people living with cancer. He frequently unites his charitable concerns with his passion for sport, team-building and personal development, raising funds and awareness through his participation in events such as the 2016 Adventure Racing World Championship, where he and his team covered 640 km in seven days to finish 63rd in the world.
