Trent McDonald

Bachelor Civil Engineering 2014

Civil Engineering graduate Trent McDonald works as a Project Manager for Pavement Management Services on the Sunshine Coast, with the brief to build the consultancy role in pavement analysis and design particularly throughout South East Queensland.

Trent has consistently and steadily built the technology and the scope of his brief to a sophisticated package widely recognised for its engineering content and presentation. He has also published and presented papers at conferences including the International Road Federation Conference (Malaysia 2016), Industry of Public Works and Engineering (Brisbane 2016), and has been accepted to be published in the World Conference on Pavement and Asset Management (Italy 2017) and Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (Melbourne 2017).

Under the supervision of Professor John Yeaman, Trent’s first class honours project and thesis sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council, required him to evaluate pavements that had been constructed by councils 15 to 20 years previously and were still functioning adequately, to determine the parameters of construction and maintenance that contributed to their effectiveness. The subject matter of his thesis was published at a national conference of the Institute of Public Works Engineers Australia.
