Steiner Education Masterclasses

With a focus on an authentic Education of Place, and First Nations Ways of Being and Knowing, our 2020 Steiner Education Masterclasses offer participants a dynamic, cross-curricular process-based experience for early childhood, primary or high school Steiner educators. The Masterclasses are aimed at educators in Steiner schools who would like to deepen and expand their practice and pedagogy and create rich, relevant approaches, content and progressions for the year ahead. The four full-day experience will give participants a USC certificate of participation worth 28 hours of Professional Development.

For those new to Steiner Education, we welcome you to enrol in our one-day Introduction to Steiner Education, (7 hours) which will introduce Steiner’s approaches and pedagogy in a hands-on and experiential way. The course will run in January 2021 - the exact date is to be determined. This is a prerequisite for anyone wanting to complete the Masterclass who does not have experience in Steiner Education.

Using Rudolf Steiner’s insights on child development and engaging with contemporary issues in education, the short course Masterclasses offer a unique opportunity for those working in Steiner schools to facilitate expansive, supportive learning experiences and environments for children from birth to 18 years old.

Course facilitators are Dr Shelley Davidow from USC’s School of Education, Steiner teacher and international educator Gregorio Noakes, Early Childhood educator Carol Liknaitzky, First Nations artists and educators Waiata Telfer and Peter Mulcahy, and USC lecturer Aunty Judi Wickes.
