Supporting students financially affected by COVID-19
While COVID-19 has changed many things, one area that remains unchanged at USC is our focus on our students and their wellbeing. At this time, many are doing it tough and for some the financial pressure is impacting their ability to meet basic needs, let alone continue with their studies.
Common challenges include:
Loss of income to pay for rent, food and bills
Increased expenses related to technology and internet to study from home
Increased personal safety issues at home
Inability to access government support related to COVID-19.
To respond to the need, USC is providing eligible students with an emergency bursary of up to $1,000. The University has already received almost 2000 requests for assistance and the funds available are simply not sufficient to meet the need. COVID-19 has affected many businesses and individuals, but if you are doing OK and are able to help, please give what you can.
Donations are tax deductible and 100% of money raised will go directly to students.
Donations to the bursary can be made via a secure payment link.
