Graduate Walk

Honouring the past and celebrating the future

In June 2014, with the University’s 20th Anniversary only 18 months away, a special initiative was launched to commemorate this significant milestone; Graduate Walk.

The pathway, running through the heart of the University, from buildings B and C through to the library and across to building K, was chosen to become ‘Graduate Walk’. A pathway comprised of 400 individually inscribed pavers, USC graduates were contacted and asked to pledge $200 to forever leave their mark on USC with a personalised brick, a community of alumni, celebrating their achievements and paving the way for future students.

Graduate Walk was officially unveiled on 26 February 2016 marking the 20-year anniversary of the first USC lecture.

The University is very proud of its alumni and community, and the positive response to this unique initiative.

Supporting educational dreams

Donations of $200 to secure 400 places raised $80,000 in financial support for future USC students via the USC Study Support Bursary.

USC Study Support Bursaries were designed specifically to assist students from low socio-economic backgrounds, with a preference for students who must work to support their studies.

They have given recipients the financial flexibility to be able to commit more time to their studies and engaging in university life, with less time in paid employment.

Graduate Walk provides a lasting legacy and creates a sense of pride and history, not only inspiring our students, but paving the way for their future success.

This initiative for graduates to secure a paver in their honour on Graduate Walk and donate towards Study Support Bursaries closed at the end of 2015. If a similar initiative is planned in the future, alumni will be notified by email of the opportunity to participate.
