Here comes the sun – USC Moreton Bay is coming
5 Feb 2019
USC is building Australia’s newest university campus, USC Moreton Bay. This innovative new campus will open in Petrie in early 2020 and will offer world-class study opportunities for students in this region and beyond.
Construction in progress
Construction of the campus is underway. Keep an eye on our YouTube channel to see weekly drone footage from the site and watch the foundation facility take shape.
USC Moreton Bay is being built on 10.5 hectares on the site of the former Petrie Paper Mill. Stage One will include:
- more than 16,000 square metres of floor space over three levels
- a 400-seat lecture theatre for teaching and community events
- $10 million of state-of-the-art technology, including simulation facilities, engineering facilities, and a makerspace
- a core commitment to renewable energy
Did you know?
The Moreton Bay region is the only local government area in Australia with a population nearing 400,000 people that is not supported by a full-service university campus. We’re excited to bring new study opportunities to the region, and to welcome the next generation of students and graduates from Moreton Bay to the USC community.
What can my child study and how do they apply?
From Semester 1, 2020, your child can choose from almost 50 different degrees at USC Moreton Bay, including in business, ICT and computing, communication, design, education, engineering (including new programs in mechatronics and electrical engineering), science and animal ecology.
Applications for Semester 1, 2020 study at USC Moreton Bay will open through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) in August.
We’re hitting the road
In March, our staff and students will be visiting Year 12 students at schools across the Moreton Bay region as part of our Moreton Bay Roadshow. We’ll be delivering information about the programs and support that will be offered at this new campus, as well as a special virtual reality experience of our new campus that students can take home.
