Bryce Raymond

Degree: Bachelor of Paramedic Science

Target graduation date: 2021

My journey: After graduating high school, I worked full time in the earthmoving industry for a small period of time before deciding I wanted to pursue a career with a little more excitement than the average “9-5”. I decided to join The Royal Australian Navy and was fortunate enough to be deployed on several occasions. While I thoroughly enjoyed my time in the Military, I was not awarded with any civilian qualifications. This led me to undertake further studies after leaving the service and I decided to chase my dream of becoming a Paramedic.

Career aspirations: I hope to work as an Advanced Care Paramedic with Queensland Ambulance Service to gain on road experience. I then plan on studying a Masters of Paramedic Science to eventually become a Critical Care Paramedic.

Why did you become an Ambassador? To be able to help others maximise the opportunities they have to pursue their desired career.

What do you like about USC? My transition from Military to civilian life had many challenges. However USC’s countless support and social groups, as well as the community culture and atmosphere made the transition smooth sailing.
