High School attended: Darwin High School

Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)

Target graduation date: End of 2022

My journey: After leaving school unsure about which path I wanted to follow, I moved abroad to Munich, Germany and worked as an Au pair for a couple of years. During this time, I discovered a passion for working with children and went on to work at a bilingual Kindergarten. After working in this area for several years I decided to move home and pursue my Bachelor in Early Childhood Education. As I am considered a mature aged student, I completed the necessary prerequisites for my course through USC’s Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP) and now here I am going into my second year of study.

Career aspirations: To work as an early childhood teacher in remote areas of Australia following the completion of my degree. Following that, I would also love to teach English overseas.

Why did you become an Ambassador? As an ambassador I have the opportunity to share my experience of University and how I got here whilst connecting with people and hopefully helping people by answering questions or making that university transition easier. It would be great to show people that there are many options when it comes to studying at University.

What do you like about USC? Where do I start? After just a year of studying at USC, I can honestly say I’m proud to be a student here. The TPP course helped me to become familiar with the university and the services it offers, making the transition much easier. There is so much support for students and I have had amazing lecturers and tutors that are passionate about what they’re teaching. Not to mention, the Sunshine Coast campus is beautiful. The greenery and natural environment is great for studying and taking breaks to watch the kangaroos!
