Sarah Beardmore

Degree: Bachelor of Nutrition

Target graduation date: 2021

My journey: Straight out of school, I began studying at QUT. I started in a double degree: Bachelor of Psychology/Bachelor of Business and just wasn’t engaged. So, I quit and worked full-time. After 2 years of full-time work, I decided to give Uni another go. I enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Science through UQ. I dropped out straight away. Again, I was just not feeling happy. I began full time work again and then decided to travel for 1 year (Amazing! Travelled around Europe in a van and then around the USA). When I came home, I decided I wanted to attempt Uni again and spoke to my friend who has now graduated from USC and they recommended this Uni. I decided to enrol with USC as my top preference. I’m now in my second semester and honestly love it. It feels so right and I’ve never been more focused.

Career aspirations: At the end of my degree, I would love to work with the mind-body connection and help people increase their overall physical health by zooming in on their mental health. I currently work as a fitness instructor and will soon be a Yoga/Pilates teacher so I’m very focused on a holistic approach to health.

Why did you become an Ambassador? I honestly love USC. It sounds crazy but I really enjoy coming here every single week. I wanted to inspire more people to join the #USCtribe. It’s never too late to follow your dreams and no matter how many times you ‘fail’, you can always get back up and smash it stronger than ever!

What do you like about USC? USC is such a welcoming place to learn. Everyone is friendly and as the campus is so open and sunny (most of the time), the vibe is so relaxed and positive. USC definitely nails the perfect mix between ‘serious head down study’ and ‘treat yourself have a good time’.
