High School attended: Suncoast Christian College

Bachelor of Primary Education

Target graduation date: 2021

My journey: Similar to most high school students, I hated school. I couldn’t wait to graduate and live in the ‘real world’ as an adult. After graduation, I quickly received the opportunity to do just that. I worked for six months full time and hated what I was doing. In that journey, I discovered that I had a passion for education. I found that I wanted to have a part in giving students an amazing schooling experience. So, I began my journey to becoming a primary school teacher through USC’s Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP) program, before transferring to my Education degree. Throughout the process of applying and preparing for university, USC was exceptionally supportive and answered all my (many) questions.

Career aspirations: When I graduate, I hope to teach in a local primary school on the Sunshine Coast or venture out to teach in overseas communities.

Why did you become an Ambassador? When deciding to study, I was very uncertain about all things to do with university. I would like to be the helping hand for someone who is on the fence about applying at USC, because I am very glad I did.

What do you like about USC? I’m not going to lie, studying is challenging, but USC makes it easy. Tutors and lecturers care about your education and your wellbeing. The campus is open and bright with various study spaces and coffee places (which is a necessity). Small class sizes mean that you get the most out of your time each day. The USC community is not only inclusive, but fun! So why not join us?
