University of the Sunshine Coast Clinical Trials is a multi-site University clinical research network primarily located across the Brisbane, Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast regions in Queensland.

Our network currently includes over 15 Medical Investigators who work across primary, private specialist and private hospital environments researching the safety and efficacy of some of the most innovative treatments and vaccines.

The opportunity

UniSC has established a world class Clinical Trials business unit which builds the region’s collective clinical research capacity and delivers innovative and regionally relevant research in consultation with key stakeholders, including local healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical executives, and other key thought leaders.

You will ensure the clinical trials are conducted in accordance with the appropriate quality standards including ICH/GCP, UniSC CTC SOPs, and applicable regulations, rules and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Protecting the rights, safety and welfare of study participants.
  
  
• Ensuring that the clinical trial is conducted according to the investigational plan and all applicable regulations.
  
  
• Ensuring relevant training and certification is up to date (i.e. Good Clinical Practice – GCP).
  
  
• Performing physical/neurological examinations, review lab data, ECGs and other medical information to ensure volunteers are medically and mentally fit upon entering the study.

Qualifications

• Current medical registration as a General Practitioner in Australia
  
  
• Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP)
