Health professionals and investigators

Sponsored clinical trials have been conducted across the Sunshine Coast for a number of years however the overwhelming majority of clinical trial opportunities are proximate to major capital cities such as Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Through the University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) Clinical Trials Centre network of qualified medical practitioners operating within public, private and independent practices, we aim to create a hub of clinical research capabilities across a number of therapeutic areas. Bringing together our collective capabilities can measurably increase our potential to procure clinical trial investment to the Sunshine Coast region, increasing the therapeutic options available to clinicians and patients, generating new capital, advanced research and vocational opportunities.

Success in conducting a clinical trial is largely determined by ability to recruit, to target, the efficiency of site operations, and effective engagement with sponsors underpinned by sustainable agreements.

Work with us

An expert and committed team forms the backbone of a clinical trial project. The USC Clinical Trials Centre models itself on best practice behaviours with a high performance environment committed to quality.

Within each trial we appoint a:

  • Principal Investigator who will be accountable for the conduct of the trial, recruitment and safety of all participants,
  • Co-Investigator(s) who are medically qualified and provide medical support and expertise to the Principle Investigator,
  • Clinical Research Coordinator(s)s who are trained in clinical research and may come from a nursing, science, pharmacy or health related background and provide project management, recruitment and administrative support

We welcome the opportunity to discuss opportunities with medically qualified individuals, experienced or specialising in a specific therapeutic area. The USC Clinical Trials Centre can provide full training and certification in GCP (online) and meet any other clinical trial training needs.

If you are a clinical trial professional, coordinator or trainee please contact the USC Clinical Trials Centre with any expressions for interest in working with us.
