2017 Science Research Awards registration

Event: 2017 Science Research Awards
Date: Thursday 26 October 2017
Time: 4–8 pm
Where: University of the Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast Campus

What is it?

The Science Research Awards (SRA’s) are an investigation-based science competition facilitated by the University of the Sunshine Coast's School of Science and Engineering QSEN team. They are a great way to do some real-life science where you’ll gain valuable research skills, solve problems, work with other students, meet new people and maybe even win a cash prize!

Who can enter?

The SRA’s are open to any student in Years 7, 11 and 12. Students in Year 7 ONLY can enter as a team of 2 or as an individual. All other year groups are individual entries only.

What to enter?

Pose a scientific question and undertake a scientific investigation (EEI) to answer that question. An entry consists of a poster board display, summarising the scientific investigation. Poster boards supplied by the University of the Sunshine Coast.

The projects are assessed by judges according to adherence to scientific method, visual content and oral communication of your research to judges.

Only registered projects will be eligible for display. Students will need to be present on the day to interact with judges to be eligible for prizes.

Further information will be supplied upon registration.

Year 11 and 12:  '3 Minutes to Win It' competition

Like to talk? In 3 minutes and using only 1 PowerPoint slide present your Science Research Project to the audience on the night! Communicate about your topic of research and its significance to win some great cash prizes.

Registrations close Friday 6th October 2017.
