Sharon is a senior Biology teacher as well as a junior Science and Mathematics teacher. Prior to completing her Bachelor of Science/Education in 2010, Sharon worked in the health industry. Sharon is dedicated to supporting her students to achieve their personal best and is a committed lifelong learner, undertaking regular professional development to ensure current, engaging teaching and learning pedagogy.
Joshua has completed a Bachelor of Science (Ecology and Conservation Biology) in 2010 as well as a Graduate Diploma in Secondary Education (Biology and Geography) in 2015. He is currently a Senior Biology teacher at Saint Teresa’s Catholic College. Before pursuing a teaching career he worked in the environmental industry specialising in mining and regional council development. Joshua is a dedicated teacher who always aims to provide equity in the classroom and differentiate the curriculum to develop successful learning outcomes for all students. He regards himself as a life-long learner and is constantly developing his pedagogy to achieve the best possible outcome for the students he teaches and to build success in his professional career.
Alison has been the Teacher in Charge of Chemistry for 13 years at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. Alison has written several original and unique Chemistry units of study for the current Queensland Syllabus. Some examples topics are: Rocket Science, The Elite Athlete, What is in my drink?, Poisons, Toxins and Chemical Warfare. Alison is currently writing a ‘Handbook for Chemists’ and constructing a ‘Chemical Data booklet’; both of which would be useful to high school chemistry students.
Maths B and C
Lisa is a senior teacher with over 25 years' experience teaching Mathematics B and C, Indonesian and Italian languages. Lisa currently teaches Senior Mathematics B and C at Meridan State College, Caloundra and has previously taught at the Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School, Upminster UK as a sixth form teacher of Pure and Applied Mathematics. Other positions include Head of Mathematics at Caloundra State High School and Head of Curriculum at Cooroora Secondary College.
Donna Skilton began her teaching career as a Secondary English and Humanities teacher in 2004 at St Luke's Anglican School in Bundaberg, before accepting the Head of English position at St Paul's School in Bald Hills in 2007. In 2010, Donna relocated to the Sunshine Coast and joined Matthew Flinders Anglican College as a Senior English teacher. Donna was appointed Head of English at Flinders in July 2016, and leads a dynamic team of English teachers at the College. Donna Skilton is a passionate and energetic English teacher who is inspired by working with young people, and is driven by fostering professional, collaborative relationships with her colleagues.
Dylan Roche is a Queensland Physics and Mathematics teacher. Having taught senior physics in both the state and independent schooling sectors he has recently taken on a Physics curriculum and assessment role with the Queensland Government. He has travelled the state training teachers in Physics curriculum and assessment practices, and has completed sessional teaching work at the University of Sunshine Coast. Whether it be physics concepts or assessment expectations, his passion and energy is directed towards making everything as simple and as understandable as possible.
