High school attended: Caloundra State High School

Degree: Bachelor of Paramedic Science

Target graduation date: End of 2020

My journey: Straight out of high school I completed a Bachelor of Commerce here at USC. I realised I was not ready to start my career so I decided to take a working holiday. I ended up living in Canada for four years while also traveling the world. After being overseas and doing many different jobs, I knew I wanted a career that was hands on, challenging and involved working directly with the community. This led me to enrol in a Bachelor of Paramedic Science at USC and I have never looked back.

Career aspirations: Once I have completed my degree and gained on-road experience as an Advanced Care Paramedic, I will start my Master of Paramedic Science. My desire to continually improve my knowledge and skills is a reason why I would like to eventually become a Critical Care Paramedic.

Why did you become an Ambassador? As a student ambassador, I get to be involved with the university and the surrounding community. It gives me the opportunity to encourage people to chase their dreams. By being a ‘mature aged’ student myself, I want everyone to know that it is never too late to study something they are passionate about.

What do you like about USC? I love that the university is located on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. It provides the perfect study/life balance with surfing, fishing, hiking, camping and more all within a short drive. The university itself also has a wide range of support options available to provide all students with the best opportunity to succeed. USC is my choice of university!
