High school attended: Suncoast Christian College

Degree: Bachelor of Environmental Science

Target graduation date: 2018

My journey: During my final year of school, I was unsure of what path I wanted to take, however, I knew I didn’t want to continue studying straight away. I applied for Environmental Science at USC and deferred. I began working as an outdoor instructor and over the course of two gap years, I came to realise that the course that I had previously deferred was exactly what I wanted to do. I took up my deferred spot and haven’t looked back since.

Career aspirations: The thought of being able to combine my previous outdoors experience with the environmental science degree to undertake research expeditions excites me. It would be an interesting, challenging and rewarding field to work in.

Why did you become an Ambassador? For me, the decision making process involved with choosing a uni pathway was a lengthy one. Choosing USC is one of the best decisions I have made and the chance to share my experience to help others with their university pathway is very exciting.

What do you like about USC? The community at USC is unlike anywhere else. The university is open and friendly and invites people from all backgrounds. The lecturers remember individual names and you are always bound to run into someone you know. The courses are hands on and there are plenty of opportunities for extra help when needed. USC is the place to be!
