High school attended: Xavier Catholic College
Target graduation date: End of 2019
My journey: When I was in my senior years at Xavier Catholic College, the pressure of the QCS test was all too much and I didn’t quite know what I wanted to do after graduation. Since I can remember, I have worked for my parents in a local hospitality and tourism business, here I gained a hospitality qualification which I used as a ranking to enter University. I still hadn’t realised what my ultimate dream career might be, so using that ranking, I applied to do a Bachelor of Education (Primary) at USC on the Sunshine Coast.
I packed up all my gear and moved to the Varsity Student Accommodation and began my first semester. After my first semester, I decided that I just didn’t want to be away from my friends and family so soon after graduating high school. From then, I moved back to the Fraser Coast where I attended a different university to continue studying primary education. Mid-2015, I decided that education wasn’t quite what I wanted to do so I finished with an associate degree and took a year off to figure out my next move. After working for a year, I decided that my true passion was marketing and tourism, so I enrolled at USC Fraser Coast to study a Bachelor of Business (Marketing) – finally I found something that I am passionate about!!
Career aspirations: I would love to travel and work overseas and learn about other cultures to broaden my tourism experiences. I would also love to work for an active organisation such as Tourism Australia that promotes our beautiful country and attracts our international visitors.
Why did you become an Ambassador? Being an Ambassador means that I get to help people achieve their dreams (or be on their way to achieving their dreams) every single day.
What do you like about USC? Imagine a world where it is socially acceptable to come to class in your pyjamas at 8am..welcome to USC! USC makes student life enjoyable and provides so many opportunities, including overseas study and volunteering. The tutors are great and the study environment is stunning (think lush green grass and sunshine).
