TeAna Riddell

High school attended: Noosa District State High School

Degree: Bachelor of Education/Science (Majoring in Biology, Minor in Mathematics)

Target graduation date: Mid 2018

My journey: After finishing high school in 2011, I took a gap year to work and travel. I then studied biomedical science at another university in Brisbane for a year before transferring to USC to study education.

Uni involvement: Student Ambassador, Student Mentor, Engage Research Lab

Other: I have had the opportunity to be involved with the Engage Research Lab where I get to work with Lego Mindstorms and help teach people about the latest technologies and how they can change the world. I am also interested in the Study Overseas program.

Career aspirations: Once I graduate, I’m wanting to teach years 7, 8 and 9 Science and Maths classes. I want to get the students excited about Maths and Science and encourage more girls to look at Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths for career paths.

Why did you become an Ambassador? I became an ambassador because I love studying at USC and want to share my experiences. I believe USC has so many opportunities for students and is a great place to study.

What do you like about USC? I love that USC has so many experiences available for students to engage with, whether it be for studying overseas, volunteering or help with course work. I also love the atmosphere and how relaxed it is.
