On the day:
  • Guest speakers:
    • Kate Fitzsimons is a motivational speaker and Director of the Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation - established in honour of her sister who was killed in an overseas accident during 2012. Inspired to help others thrive through adversity, Kate works with high school students to build resilience and mental strength during challenging times using the power of positive psychology.
    • Elliot Brown is an Australian skeleton athlete, in the pursuit to represent his country at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. His story is like everybody else’s, full of highs and lows but also crashes and near misses. Elliot will talk about the power of resilience and finding a lesson to learn from every situation, and how these skills helped him get back on his sled after a crash, shake it off and continue to travel head first, two inches off the ice at 140 km/h, into the future.

  • Lunch (is on us!).
  • Networking with program mentors: Our program mentors are current USC students who will speak with your students throughout the day to share their experience of senior school to life post-school, discuss study skills and share their tips for keeping the study:life balance.
  • Photo opportunities with the speakers: Don't forget to submit completed consent forms so students can participate in opportunities to document their induction to the Rises and Shine program.
