Experience USC

Experience USC is an exclusive day for Year 10 students to explore a number of career paths, speak to academics and see what uni life is like. Students can customise their day by selecting from a range of engaging and interactive workshops across multiple careers and study areas.

Students will leave the day feeling inspired, informed and motivated about their future.

Experience USC is a highly sought after event that’s not to be missed!

Event details

Who: Year 10 students 

Date: Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 or Friday 7 June 2019, choose your school's preferred day.

Times: Arrive before 8.45am. Event runs 9am-1.30pm.

Venue: USC Sunshine Coast

Transport: Bus subsidy available

Lunch: Students and staff to BYO. There are also a number of eateries on campus where lunch can be purchased from.

Event schedule
Time Activity
Arrive before 8.45am School groups arrive at USC Bus Interchange and come to check-in.
9am-9.30am School coordinator is briefed by USC staff, distributes student name tags (provided by USC) and returns left-over name tags to marquee.
9.40am

Kick start the day with some Q & A
Students will develop their understanding of career pathways to follow their passions and make the most of their senior studies. This session is designed to get students to consider their interests, personal growth and development to confidently take on the day’s industry workshops.

Join one of our USC student ambassadors as they share insights about their personal experiences and bust some myths about life after high school and what it’s like to study at university.

10am-10.45am Workshop 1
11am-11.45am Workshop 2
11.45am-12.30pm Lunch break at Brasserie (supervised by teachers). Students and staff to BYO lunch.
12.45pm-1.30pm Workshop 3
1.30pm Event ends and schools depart
Transportation subsidies allocation

Maximum subsidy available per bus. Distance from a school directly to the Experience USC event:

  • Up to 20km: $200
  • 21 - 50km: $300
  • 51 - 100km: $400
  • Over 100km: $400

Funding beyond one bus per school will be considered case by case on assessment of all applications.

Subsidy claim process

Transport subsidies are only available to claim post event and where at least 80% of registered students were in attendance. Schools are required to pay their bus invoice in full prior to the event.

To claim transport subsides, each school must invoice the University of the Sunshine Coast for the allocated subsidy amount. These should be emailed, with a copy of the original paid bus invoice to schools@usc.edu.au by 30 July 2019.

  1. Secure your school a place at Experience USC by completing the below form – now.
  2. Submit your workshop preferences for Experience USC – instructions will be delivered to your inbox early in Term 2.
