Alison McKenzie

Alison has been the Teacher in Charge of Chemistry for 13 years at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. Alison has written several original and unique Chemistry units of study for the current Queensland Syllabus. Some examples topics are: Rocket Science, The Elite Athlete, What is in my drink?, Poisons, Toxins and Chemical Warfare. Alison is currently writing a ‘Handbook for Chemists’ and constructing a ‘Chemical Data booklet’; both of which would be useful to high school chemistry students.

Maths B and C

Lisa Holmes

Lisa is a senior teacher with over 25 years' experience teaching Mathematics B and C, Indonesian and Italian languages. Lisa currently teaches Senior Mathematics B and C at Meridan State College, Caloundra and has previously taught at the Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School, Upminster UK as a sixth form teacher of Pure and Applied Mathematics. Other positions include Head of Mathematics at Caloundra State High School and Head of Curriculum at Cooroora Secondary College.


Narelle Moulds

Narelle has a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) from the University of Sydney. She has taught in high schools in both Victoria and Queensland for nearly twenty years. She is currently teaching English at Matthew Flinders Anglican College. Previous teaching appointments include Head of Department English/LOTE/Resources at Tannum Sands State High School and Year Level Co-ordinator at St Monica's College. As an English teacher and Head of Department Narelle has delighted in exploring her passion for Literature and English and promoting enthusiasm in staff and students.


Paul Miller

Paul has completed an Honours degree in Applied Science. Paul teaches senior Physics, Mathematics B (Head of Mathematics) and Senior Information Technology Services on the Sunshine Coast.

Paul’s career experience includes 25 years practice in clinical biochemistry and numerous types of spectrophotometric analysers. He is currently a local panel member for QCAA, Mathematics B and has served on the panel for the last eight years.


Penny Horton-Stephens

Penny has a Bachelor of Education and a Master of Science. She has taught the International Baccalaureate, NSW and Queensland Senior Biology courses, across four states and two countries. She has been a Careers Counsellor, Head of Department, Curriculum Coordinator and Director of Studies. She is now working at Matthew Flinders Anglican College as a Senior Biology and Mathematics teacher and a teacher-coach. She is a highly passionate teacher who believes in the strength of developing supportive relationships with her students and colleagues.
