High school attended: Western Heights Geelong VIC

Degree: Bachelor of Commerce/Management

Target graduation date: 2021

My journey: I never cared much for high school when I was younger but after experiencing numerous years of being a part of the Australian work force, I wanted broaden my opportunities.

I commenced the Tertiary Preparation Pathway (TPP) to have a taste of the USC lifestyle. I was unsure of my capabilities and direction but that changed throughout my study.

Towards the end of my bridging program I discovered that my favourite course was business studies. This led me to pursue my newly discovered interest of commerce. On completion of TPP I was equipped with the required skills and confidence for university life.
I am currently studying the Bachelor of Commerce and I could not picture my life any other way.

Career aspirations: Completing the Bachelor of Commerce will allow me to register with numerous agencies as an accountant. Once I have gained experience in the field, I will aim for a position where I can manager people and finance for a business. I will continue this roll until I am confident to open and run my own entity.

Why did you become an Ambassador? One of the main roles of an Ambassador is to communicate with the public about opportunities at the University of the Sunshine Coast. If I can ensure that the community understand their education options and know that it is never too late to study, I will be happy.

What do you like about USC? I have never been a part of such a sophisticated yet relaxed education system before. I enjoy the fact that I am receiving a high-quality education during class, while having the freedom to lay on grass with Kangaroos for lunch.
The University of the Sunshine Coast definitely knows how to capture the Sunshine Coast vibe. It is reflected in the architecture, environment, coffee and locals staffing the university.
