Planned Environmental Burn - USC Compensatory Habitat

16 Jul 2020

As part of USC's Fire Management Plan, sections of the Compensatory Habitat at the USC Sunshine Coast campus are required to undergo controlled burns to ensure the health and safety of the campus and its ecosystems.

This year section 8 (just southeast of the lakes) is scheduled, with the first potential date set for Thursday 23 July 2020 (dependent on conditions).

The Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) are coordinating the exercise with both urban and rural teams.

Advice will be given to local adjoining residents and stakeholders, including schools. If you have any concerns or queries with regard to the exercise, please contact AMS Reception on 5430 1195.
