International Women's Day

1 Mar 2021

International Women’s Day, 8 March, provides an opportunity to recognise the diverse and significant achievements of women in our communities and the work that still needs to occur. This year’s theme #ChooseToChallenge is a call-to-action to choose to challenge gender bias and inequality.

Collectively, we can create an inclusive world.

From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge gender bias and inequality. Equality is not a women’s issue; it’s a societal and business issue.

Often, conferences and events lack diverse balance, despite there not being a shortage of qualified individuals to contribute.

This year, show your individual commitment to help challenge this by signing the USC Diversity Pledge.

This initiative sits within the newly launched Diversity and Inclusion Plan 2021-2023 and calls on staff and students to commit to requesting gender equity as a condition of participation on any panel or conference.

We each need to choose to be inclusive in our behaviour and actions.

Visit Campus life events for further details about activities taking place across the week.
